Vivo T4R 5G Review

Vivo T4R 5G

Vivo T4R 5G has taken the Indian budget smartphone market by storm since its launch in July 2025. Priced at ₹19,499 (8GB+128GB) and ₹23,499 (12GB+256GB), it promises a premium quad-curved AMOLED display, IP68+IP69 durability, a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS camera, and a huge 5700mAh battery — all while undercutting the Samsung Galaxy A56 and OnePlus Nord CE5 by ₹5,000–₹8,000.

But is the Vivo T4R 5G really the “best phone under ₹20,000” in 2025, or just another spec-sheet warrior? After using it as my daily driver for over a month (including heavy gaming, photography in Mumbai monsoons, and 10-day trips), here’s the complete, no-BS verdict.

Vivo T4R 5G Design & Build: The Slimmest Quad-Curved Phone in India

At just 7.39 mm thick and 183.5 g, the Vivo T4R 5G is currently the slimmest smartphone with four-sided curved edges in India. The front and back glass curve seamlessly into the frame, giving it a pebble-like feel that’s incredibly comfortable to hold — even for long gaming or reading sessions.

The back panel comes in three finishes:

All three have a glossy finish that looks stunning under light but is a fingerprint magnet. Thankfully, Vivo bundles a clear TPU case.

Real-world durability is excellent:

Only downside: the plastic middle frame flexes slightly under strong pressure — a reminder this is still a sub-₹20k phone.

Vivo T4R 5G Display: One of the Best in Segment

The 6.77-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED is the star of the show:

Side-by-side with the Samsung A56 and Realme 15 Pro, the T4R’s display is noticeably brighter and more vibrant. Colors pop, blacks are inky, and the curve adds immersion without accidental touches (thanks to good palm rejection).

Only cons:

For Netflix, YouTube, and gaming, it’s easily one of the top 3 displays under ₹25,000.

Vivo T4R 5G Performance: Smooth Enough for Daily Use & Light Gaming

The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 (Antutu ~6.8–7.2 lakh) is no flagship killer, but it handles everything a normal user throws at it:

Compared to rivals:

For ₹20k, performance is more than adequate. Only heavy gamers pushing 90/120 FPS constantly will feel the limit.

Vivo T4R 5G Camera: Good Daylight, Average Low-Light

Rear Cameras

Daylight photos are sharp, colors are natural (slightly warm tone), and dynamic range is very good. Portrait mode edge detection is excellent — better than most in this price range.

Low-light performance is average:

Video: 4K@30fps with decent stabilization, but no 60fps option.

Selfie Camera: 8MP — decent in good light, soft in low light.

Verdict: Camera is good for social media and casual photography, but don’t expect Pixel-level magic or ultrawide versatility.

Vivo T4R 5G Battery Life & Charging: The Real Highlight

The 5700mAh silicon-carbon battery is a monster:

44W FlashCharge:

Real-world example:
Day 1: 8 AM → 100%
Used for navigation, photography, gaming, social media → ended at 42% after 7 hours SOT
Day 2: Continued use → still 18% left by evening

Easily the best battery life under ₹25,000.

Vivo T4R 5G Software: Funtouch OS 15 – Love It or Hate It

Funtouch OS 15 (based on Android 15) is smooth and feature-rich:

But it comes with bloat:

Good news: most bloat can be uninstalled, and Vivo promises:

Not class-leading (Samsung offers 5+6), but acceptable at this price.

Final Verdict: Should You Buy the Vivo T4R 5G?

Yes, if you want:

No, if you need:

At ₹19,499, the Vivo T4R 5G is currently the best all-rounder under ₹20,000 in India for users who value design, battery life, and display quality over everything else.
